Today was the opening of our company's sportsfest, and I registered to play for Bowling. Though, I am not that good, but I can throw a few strikes and spares. But my main reason why I joined was, I get to play this expensive sport for free, hehehe...
Before the Sportsfest was announced Open, the Director gave a few words of wisdom. Two games were being played after the opening, Bowling and Billiards. He gave two lessons, one for Bowling and the other for Billiards.
I will only focus on what he shared about bowling as this is the only thing that interested me. He said that it is ideal that the weight of the ball that the player will use should be 10% of your body weight. And this is what was taught to me as well by my bowling mentors from Sykes. And during that time that he played, he was around 160 (i think..), and so he selected the ball with the biggest weight. Because of the too much weight, he broke his back. He then found out that it should not be 10% of one's body weight. But rather, 10% of the player's ideal weight. Since my ideal weight is 150lbs, my ball should weigh 15lbs. hmmm, nah, i will stay with what I have been using, 9lbs.
I would want to believe that it was a good game for our team, because when I tried to compute for the other team's scores, I think ours is the highest. I am hoping that we will really make it to the Semis which means, it will be another 3 games for FREE for me... hahahaha...
